The band, orchestra and choir look forward to performing together.

For the first time, the school is combining all musical organizations on Dec. 20 for a Masterworks Concert. The concert will be held at the Centrum, the main performance hall on the campus of Cypress Creek Christian Community Center.

Every year, the band and orchestra combine for a Full Orchestra competition, but choir adds another element. For freshman band member Alex Broussard, this will make a great experience.

“I think that we will put on a good concert,” he said. “With three different extracurricular activities combined, it will make one grand performance.”

Although Broussard believes this will be a fun activity, he also believes this will require a great deal of time.

“The concert will require extra work but I think it will make the end product even better,” he said. “As musicians, we work with other musicians and it helps us in the long run. We have the chance to experience different techniques and styles.”

Choir Director Kasey Pope is also excited for an experience as exciting as the Masterworks Concert.

“I am very excited to have the chance to work with the orchestra and band,” she said. “I don’t think the students will know how amazing the experience is until they actually perform.”

Senior choir Mollie Bradley said she is excited as well, even though this will be her first and her last concert.

“We are all working individually and we are all working really hard,” Bradley said. “This is definitely a great opportunity.”

Tickets will be sold for $10.00 at the door. 6823 Cypresswood Drive.
