Malaysian Flight MH370 Timeline – Updating
UPDATED – 4/17/2014 11:01 a.m.
Australia supplied a navy ship equipped with a U.S.-supplied black box detector in order to locate MH370’s signal on April 4. Every airliner contains a black box, which records flight data and location information. Authorities are searching for MH370’s black box to determine the true cause of its course change and disappearance.
The first black box signal was detected by a Chinese vessel, but did not show the plane’s position. On April 9 authorities announced that they are getting closer to pinpointing MH370’s location and would soon begin searching the ocean floor.
