New iPhone released with updated software
On Sept. 25, the iPhone 6S was released in Apple Retail Stores.
“Most people are excited about getting the new iPhone,” spanish teacher Donna Meredith said. “They stand in line every year to get it right as it comes out. It’s like when people want to get their hands on the latest video game.”
During a press conference held Sept. 9, 2015, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc., said that in order to live up to the success of last year, the team worked incredibly hard to create a product that is truly meaningful and innovative.
“Apple products are very user friendly,” senior Teni Mathew said. “I like the way the phone is set up overall. It’s just battery life isn’t the best, and the phone freezes sometimes.”
The new iPhone comes in two sizes: the iPhone 6S with a 4.7 inch retina display, and the iPhone 6S Plus with a 5.5 inch retina display, according to the official Apple website.
“Compared to the new iPhone, my old phones were pretty lame,” junior Cindy Hernandez said. “They worked, but are kind of old-fashioned now. I like my cellphones with Internet capabilities, a good battery life and something that I can easily fit in my pocket. The iPhone does that, and I can’t wait to get the new one.”
Some new features that were integrated into the new iPhone include 3-D touch, a high-definition Face Time camera, Touch ID, six digit passcodes, iOS 9 and more, according to Phil Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple Inc.
“What I really like about the iPhone 6S is the new live photo feature,” junior Diana Valencia said. “The only thing that I dislike about it is that it can easily break.”
