Seussical: The Musical opens on Jan. 28, and will be in the auditorium.

Seussical the Musical will be put on by the drama department in the auditorium Jan. 28 through 30 and Feb. 1, 5 and 6 at 7 p.m.

“I think people should see the play, because the good stories we read as kids are in the play,” junior William Hanh said. “I think it will be a great experience.”

Junior Olivia Roden and Hanh will be starring in the play as Cat in the Hat and Horton.

“Sometimes it’s stressful,” junior Emily Black said. “But it’s fun because I love the dancing and singing. It’s all really awesome.”

The cast practices Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. As the play date comes closer, the cast has had to stay until 11 p.m., on some nights according to theatre director Robin Wood Welch.

“I think this will be a very well received show,” Welch said. “After the students see our previews, they will want to see the show and with it being connected to Dr. Seuss, lots of younger kids and their parents will want to come see it.  As far as our performers, they will be ready to do a great performance.”

Eight sets of twins will be performing in the shows, as well as an alumni student helping as a volunteer. According to Welch, nine different Klein ISD campuses will be represented through students in the show.

“The cast is great fun to work with and we bounce ideas off each other,” Hanh said. “It’s a good way to work as a team.”
