Teen Dating Violence needs to be taken very seriously. It can cause depression, suicide or future abusive tendencies. According to loveisrespect.org, one in three adolescents in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional or verbal abuse from a dating partner.
Our slogan for this month is “be a lover, not an abuser.” This is meant to encourage others to love who they are with and respect who they are around. In the beginning of February, 400 students were asked to answer two questions: “do you know anyone who has been abused or is currently being abused?” and “have you done anything to stop it?” The results of the survey are as follows:
