Balancing academic life, sports, and clubs can be a difficult task, but commitment and faith can help when it becomes stressful. Junior Kensley Noe shows her commitment to becoming a better version of herself, and may help others with their high school experiences.
Noe takes advanced classes, such as Advanced Placement (AP), plays water polo, and is an officer for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Noe first found her interest in getting closer to God through a school event during her freshman year.
“One of the first moments that really sparked me was Fields of Faith during my freshman year,” Noe said. “Every year people share their testimonies and in my freshman year my sister shared hers and then it sparked my true interest in God and the FCA community in Klein.”
After Noe witnessed how the people around her were strengthening their relationships with God, she wanted to pursue walking along that path too.
“Watching my sister and her connection with God blossom the more she went to FCA and connected with those who viewed God in the same light really pushed me to want to go every day and really helped me with my path alongside God,” Noe said.
With this new found interest in getting closer to God, she started wondering more about FCA because that’s where her friends seemed to be strengthening their relationship with God. The first time she ever attended this meeting was with a couple of her friends who took her for the donuts.
“The first time I had ever gone to FCA was after the weight room one day, all of the swim kids had gone and they invited me because of the free donuts,” Noe said.
This connection with the people who brought her and the organization itself led her to pursuing an officer role. Noe wanted to spread her belief and help the world around her more thoroughly.
“I wanted to pursue an officer role because I believe it will help me spread the word of Christ and since I am an officer I can help more closely for charity events and other fundraisers we may do,” she said.
This is Noe’s first year in an officer position but she hopes that she can help spread the word of Christ, inspire hope, and help with upcoming events.
“I haven’t been an officer for too long but I hope to help out with events like our annual flag football tournament,” Noe said.
