Luliet Bakery will have its grand opening at 2920 on Friday Oct 25. This will be the owner, Nelia Shehaj’s, first storefront since starting her business in 2015.

Shehaj has been baking for more than seven years and started her business five years ago. It has been Shehaj’s dream to open a storefront since her first day in pastry school. The name, Luliet, came from Shehaj’s late mother-in-law’s name. Luliet passed away before getting to meet her grandchildren so Shehaj decided to honor her by naming the bakery after her and to let her children know they still have a grandmother.

The theme of the bakery is fresh and nostalgic. The shop is kid friendly, a great place to enjoy desserts with your entire family. Shehaj also plans to create an event once a month whether it be an art show for adults or a cartoon character for children. Shehaj will also be hosting cookie decorating classes and corporate team building events.

The best-selling items from Shehaj is her ice cream and french macarons. The bakery will also be offering a variety of sweet treats such as root beer floats, cake balls, cupcakes and cookie sandwiches. Many of the treats sold will be made from scratch from the ice cream down to the cone you are eating it in. The ice cream will also be made in-house.

Part of what makes Luliet so unique is the flavors of ice cream and macarons. Shehaj doesn’t only create the typical basic flavors such as vanilla and chocolate. She also creates unique flavors such as salted caramel, cinnamon crunch, apple pie crumb, coffee, sorberts, birthday cake and chocolate peanut butter. She also creates seasonal flavored such as pumpkin spice for the fall.

To be one of the firsts to taste Shehaj’s sweet treats, you can attend the grand opening this weekend from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
