The Varsity Baseball team won game two of three in round two of baseball playoffs 6-3 against Cedar Ridge.

The Varsity Baseball team plays their first round of Bi-District playoff games against Oak Ridge at Oak Ridge Stadium May 1 at 7 p.m.

According to team members, the team has performed well and they hope to continue that into playoffs.

“We’re going into these next few games confidently,” sophomore Jacob Wieder said. “We have a good record under our belts and we are going to continue playing as a family.”

According to coach Jay Darneal, this round of playoffs are best two out of three. Varsity will compete against Oak Ridge away on Thursday and home on Friday, both games at 7 p.m., then again on Saturday at 2 p.m. If they win both Thursday and Friday, the third game will not be necessary and they will advance to the second round of playoffs.

Senior Jacob Rodriguez said this can be stressful and nerve-racking for the entire team, but the team is expected to give it their all.

“We will go out and give it our best effort,” Rodriguez said. “We hope to come out on top; we have one goal and that’s to make it to Round Rock.”

Team members said they are excited for another chance to make the best of playoffs and have all their hard work put pay off.
