Jake Jarvis hopes every outing could go as well as Friday, as Jarvis struck out 10 batters to carry Varsity Baseball to a 3-1 victory over College Park at College Park High School in seven innings.
Jarvis worked out of 10 tough spots for the team, pitching seven innings and allowing no earned runs on three hits. The team got their bats going early, scoring three runs in the first inning to pull ahead of College Park.
The team would not relinquish the lead as College Park was unable to weather a three-run first inning deficit. College Park scored one run in the third on an error. Despite its efforts, College Park couldn’t get over the hump.
In the third inning, College Park pushed across its only run of the day on an error.
