1 Villanova vs 1 Kansas

1+Villanova+vs+1+Kansas

Villanova has been one of the best, if not the best team in college basketball this year. AP player of the year winner junior Jalen Brunson has lead the Wildcats to a dominant run throughout the regular season and the tournament, leading them in assists and scoring. Kansas, on the other hand, had a rocky season. They lost to at least 3 unranked teams throughout the teams, notably two losses to Oklahoma State University, who failed to make the tournament. Fortunately, for the Jayhawks, they won their way into the tournament via Big 12 title. A key individual matchup in this game will be between the big men, sophomore Udoka Azubuike (Kansas) and freshman OmariĀ Spellman (Villanova). Both guys play a dirty work position on their guard-heavy teams. Whoever can gain dominance in the paint first can put a driving nail in the win of either team. The other obvious matchup is between Brunson (Villanova) and senior Devonte’ Graham (Kansas). Both of these guys ability to make plas for their teammates is nearly unmatched by anybody in collegiate basketball right now. A game between two 1-seeds is tough to call, but I think Villanova has the upper hand in the end.
