Raving for Rixton
Hopes for “Let the road”
What first started out as an unknown band on YouTube creating wonderful covers of popular hit songs, the United Kingdom-based band Rixton is now steadily increasing its presence in the music industry and building its’ fan base daily.
The band contains lead singer/rhythm guitarist Jake Roche, bassist/keyboardist/vocalist Danny Wilkin, lead guitarist/vocalist Charley Bagnall and drummer/vocalist Lewi Morgan. After a year of playing at random local venues and uploading covers of songs such as “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift and Chris Brown’s “Don’t Wake Me Up” to their YouTube channel, they are now releasing in their first album “Let the Road” which includes hit songs “Me and My Broken Heart” and “Makeout.”
Ever since Rixton first debuted with their single “Me and My Broken Heart,” I have been earnestly waiting for their first album. Their mix of soul and pop absolutely captivates me. And being the fan that I am, I have researched and listened to most of the songs on their upcoming album, even if it meant a low quality recording of a public performance. Trust me, it was worth it. The albums jumps from somber songs of breakup and heartache to peppy songs of passionate love and the glory of the present. The harmony and energy contained in each song is tantalizing and addictive for anyone. Rixton does not stick to just one genre of music, so this makes it possible for anyone to enjoy it.
Their album is going to be available for purchase Mar. 2, 2015 and it is absolutely worth buying.
