School vandalized overnight Wednesday, vulgar terms spraypainted on walls
As students and staff arrived at school Thursday, Oct. 10, they noticed spray-paint graffiti near the athletic hall and cosmetology entrance.
“We believe this to have happened between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. and it was originally spotted by our custodial and food service staff around 5:45 a.m.,” Associate Principal Steve Matheson said. “Klein maintenance personnel arrived within 2 hours with high pressure powerwashers to clean the paint off the building, which took a solid 2 hours.”
Matheson confirmed that although ideas concerning intent have been presented by students and community members, no concrete motives are present at this time.
“We feel as though we have some pretty good leads as to who and why this occurred,” he said. “School administration and law enforcement agencies are working in conjunction with one another to find out who is responsible.”
Matheson expressed the importance of the student body having pride in the school. He encouraged anyone that knows anything concerning damage to the school to come forward anonymously through Crime Stoppers or alert school staff directly.
