Texas Board of Education addresses advanced courses issue

The Texas Board of Education has started to address the confusion on what classifies as an advanced course in high school.

Earlier this year, the Legislature changed the number of advanced courses required to graduate, but did not specifically state which classes qualify as an advanced course.  This has caused questions to arise from schools all over Texas, asking for clarity from the Board as to what classes are advanced.

The board held a meeting in Austin mid-November to discuss the issue and will make a final decision sometime in January.
