Klein ISD hosts college night
This Thursday, Oct. 10, Klein ISD will be hosting its annual college night. The event will take place at Champion Forest Baptist Church, located at 15555 Stuebner-Airline Rd., from 6-9 p.m., with approximately 200 colleges planning to attend.
This is an event for all grade levels. Students are encouraged to attend and ask questions. Representatives from a variety of universities will be in attendance to provide any information. A new bar code system has also been created that will allow students to have easy access to download further information about the colleges they wish to attend.
Senior Thompson Mixon, who has attended college night since his freshman year, looks forward to visiting with different colleges. He feels that this is a beneficial opportunity for all students.
“College night is helpful, because there is something for everyone,” Mixon said. “If you don’t find what you are looking for, you have not searched hard enough. I like the variety. There is a ton of colleges and a lot of representatives who are willing to help out.”
Along with the opportunity to explore colleges, students and parents will be able to attend scheduled presentations on topics such as financial aid and the application process. No formal documentation is required for the event and all students are encouraged to attend.
