Volleyball Recap

Varsity volleyball’s 2015 season came to a close. This year, their district record was 11-3; only losing to Klein Oak two times and Klein High one time. They lost in the first round of playoffs to College Park.

“Our team did so well this year,” Coach Amanda McMeans said. “They left it on the court and our young team surprised a lot of people.”

After losing only three games this season, senior Karlie Greene said that she was sad to see the season come to an end.

“It’s really crazy that this season is over,” Greene said. “It feels like just yesterday I was anticipating freshman ball and now it’s basically all over.”

Senior Elizabeth Harshaw on the team expressed her excitement for this past season and how it helped her evolve into a better player.

“I loved playing on varsity with all the people I did,” Harshaw said. “We all got along really well and I think it made me a more mature player.”

The players admit that they are going to miss playing with each other and getting pumped for every game side-by-side. Greene said that she became so close to her teammates this year and that connection made her and everyone else better players.

“I’m really proud of my girls,” she said. “We all played our hearts out every game and I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m going to miss my sisters so much.”
