The saying goes, “Everything’s bigger in Texas.”
Nothing is more true to that than homecoming.
In the final football game of the regular season, the Tigers faced the Golden Eagles at home for the homecoming game on Halloween. The Tigers came away with a 41-8 victory over the Eagles, much to the delight of the students.
“My favorite part of the football game is the community surrounding it with everyone cheering together,” sophomore Leah Roth said.
For homecoming, the band, Belles, and cheerleaders perform amazing routines that they have worked hard on at the pep rally and the same.
“Tiger belles are my favorite performers at the football games because I love their choreography and how in-sync they look, but I love how close the cheerleaders are because it gets people involved,” Roth said.
The Tiger Belles always bring energy and fun to the game, and their dances are hypnotising to all the students who watch.
“My favorite part of the football games would be walking on the field for halftime in front of all my friends and family, the intensity and adrenaline rushing throughout my body before dancing with the band is just one of the best moments for me,” sophomore Tiger Belle Maci Lewis said.
The Belles and cheerleaders may perform dances and cheers that get the crowds hype, but the band has a halftime performance that gets everyone on their feet, amazed.
“I enjoy watching the band perform after I finish dancing, you can tell they put a lot of time into what they do and I love seeing them add on to their performance throughout the season then seeing it one last time during homecoming gives me a nostalgic feeling,” Lewis said.
At the dance, there was so much for people to do, and there was never a dull moment.
“My experience was great.” freshman Keylee Bradshaw said. “I liked the 360
and the photo booth.”
Overall, homecoming provided a great opportunity for students to spend time with their friends and dates, and all that were there had a great time.
“The best part of the dance was that everyone was hype and I got to be with my friends,” Roth said.
