The Class of 2026 has officially made it past their first full week of classes, settling in as the upperclassmen of KC!
Saturday, August 23rd, marks the first official senior celebration: Senior Sunrise!
Classmates come together in the Collins baseball fields early Saturday morning and sit together with friends, watching as the sun rises and taking their first official memory pictures. It has been a long-standing tradition among seniors, with some even creating posters and wearing trendy jeans to showcase their school spirit.
The field was packed, people sitting in groups, talking, laughing, and eating together. This sacred moment held a sweet aura for the seniors, leaving everyone in high spirits. Students couldn’t believe they’d finally made it this far, that it was their last year before becoming young adults in the world.
“I knew this was a big deal,” senior Denesia Gibson said, “but this morning just made it all seem so real.”
