Jared Huber did all he could to give the varsity baseball team a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past College Park, as the team lost 3-1 in seven innings at a home game Thursday, May 2.
Huber did his best to jumpstart the offense for the team, reaching base three times. He singled in the third inning.
Francisco Pena looked sharp on the mound. College Park managed just four hits off of the the Klein Collins pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his five innings of work.
David Ellingson got the win for College Park. He allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings. Ellingson struck out six, walked three and gave up five hits.
College Park closer Jacob Krzemien put away the final five outs to record the save.
The game was never in doubt after the fourth, as College Park scored one run on an error.
College Park increased its lead with two runs in the sixth. Jayden Holden singled, bringing home Ellingson to start the inning.
The Tigers scored their only run of the game on a walk by Joel Rodriguez in the sixth inning.
