The varsity girls soccer team advanced to playoffs after beating Atascocita 4-2 last night.
Going into double overtime with a tie of 1-1, the Lady Tigers stole the win scoring three penalty kicks.
“At first I wasn’t sure that we had won, but everyone was running around Giovanna Cali who scored the last goal,” senior Stacy Vanegas said. “I started crying because we wanted this so bad. It was the best feeling in the world.”
According to Vanegas, the team has made playoffs every year. They will play a home game against the Woodlands this Friday at 6 p.m.
“I think our hearts were in the right place,” Vanegas said. “We really wanted this. I’m happy we could continue the tradition of going to playoffs, and I wouldn’t have wanted to go with anybody except for these girls.”
